Park Construction completed the Drayton Dam Replacement project on the Red River of the North in northeast North Dakota. This 2-year project is part of the larger Fargo Moorhead Flood Protection Project and is aimed at improving biotic connectivity through construction of a rock fish passageway.

The new dam, a sheet pile steel dam, includes scour repair, a new access road, 2 new concrete fish platforms, 40,000 cubic yards of excavation, 50,000 tons of riprap, and 20,000 tons of bedding. The rock-riffle design also reduces drowning risk by eliminating the dangerous “roller” currents created below traditional lowhead dams.
