Mike NottestadBackground and Experience:

I worked for 12 months as a carpenter after high school, and then I took a 23-year break from construction to pursue a career working in the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile program for the U.S. Air Force. After my military career, I joined Park Construction as a Safety Director. I have been at Park for over 20 years and in that time, I have worked as a Safety Director, Project Engineer, Project Manager and Vice-President.

What are you proud of, and what is your vision for the future?

What I’m most proud of is also what I the most thankful for. I came into the Heavy Civil industry I had zero experience in civil construction. I was hired to manage the safety program. I had to work very hard to learn many of the technical elements of the business through self-study and research. I also worked with several project managers, superintendents, foreman and operators who took the time to teach me what I needed to know to be successful in this industry and for that I am extremely grateful.
